Special Butterfly

Vorlon

Living with three girls was every bit as eventful and busy as anyone in the family could think of. Alphonso, Francesco and Alessandro still remembered the delightful time of having quadruplets as little sisters, but taking care of just ONE child was totally new for Gabriele, yet alone three at the same time.

Gabriele had never participated in caring for Riccardo or Gaia, the only siblings younger than him, for he was considered “above that” as the future Emperor. Luckily for him, Chasity had been trained to be a Queen since the very beginning. Being a Queen meant many things and among those things was the inevitable motherhood. Three daughters were a lot to handle but Chasity did the best she could - and was quite successful.

Whenever Chasity needed rest, the silent Francesco stepped in to care for the girls. For a man capable of horrible acts, both for the Emperor and for himself, he was surprisingly gentle and talented with children. All of the three angels of darkness were silent and content around him. He had the same effect on animals. Something in his calm, silent demeanor must have made them feel safe.

As the kids grew, it was obvious Gabriele and Chasity would face the difficult decision of having to pick the future Head Of The House. The training would take lots of time and resources and they couldn’t just put all three through the same thing. Alphonso and Chasity would be responsible for most of the training, so Gabriele respectfully stepped aside, freeing himself of the task and concentrating in his work. He’d be the one training the new Emperor after a decade or two, so maybe he had the right to do so.

In the beginning it was hard to set the sisters aside from each other, but as they grew, certain traits and characteristics already started to show. Genevra, the red headed first born of the triplets, was smart and fast learner, but she had a tendency to be quite over the top. When she cried, she howled. When she laughed, she could be heard all the way at the front gates. Everything she felt was felt extreme.

Fabrizia, the angel girl with golden eyes like her mother's, wasn’t as fast with new things as her sister, but she was brave and persistent. She didn’t take well with failure though and she could be quite stubborn and hot headed during worse days. In the beginning it seemed like a phase, but eventually it was obvious Fabrizia was just hot tempered. It wasn’t a bad trait in a person, necessarily, but not ideal for someone who was supposed to remain calm and collected most of the time.

Enrica, the one born last, started to seem like the best option. She was obedient, she was smart and no matter if she was a little bit shy she always did her very best. Clearly failing made her feel extremely uncomfortable, but she managed to control her feelings a lot better than Fabrizia or Genevra.

The decision had been made. Little by little Enrica’s studies differed from those of her sisters. She attended the same Elementary School as they did, but at home she would spend extra hours with uncle Alphonso or her mother, listening about the family history or learning manners. At one point she started questioning them about it, and both answered by saying her sisters didn’t necessarily need this information. She did, for she had “a special job waiting for her”.

Whether or not this special treatment would fuel arguments in the future was left to be seen. At least for now the three sisters remained close. They were too young to understand one of them had been picked for a special cause while the other two would submit to their roles as just regular princesses.
